If you have never attended a hockey game in general, you are missing out. If you have never attended a Jets game however, you are majorly missing out. The fact that you get to see all of the NHL superstars in one building, playing against other heavy weights like Florida and Toronto, it’s amazing. The food and entertainment is such good quality, that the fun never stops. Yes, there are sometimes when the Jets play bad and you can’t do anything about it, but being in the presence of the arena makes the experience feel special.

Canada Life Centre does more than just hockey games. They do concerts, WE Day, Monster Truck stuff, and comedy shows. The main attraction however is Jets games. There is something just cool about getting a ticket to go watch your favorite hockey team in the evening. Heading downtown on game day is definitely one of the city’s best experiences. You can’t look anywhere without running into blue jerseys and and have all of the excitement running through your veins. The city screams positivity on game day, whether the Jets win or lose. It doesn’t matter. You are always in for a good ride.

The crowd is one of the other reasons Jets games are so enjoyable. They start of the game by yelling,” True North”, really loud in “Oh Canada”, followed by the cheering for the Jets when the come out of the dressing room. It is truly one of the best experiences a hockey fan can have. If the game is out of hand, the crowd will start chanting stuff, which makes the game feel more like you’re involved. Arguably the best thing that can happen when you are in the crowd is when the Jets mascot comes down and starts leaning into the game. Mick “E” Moose is, (in my opinion) the best mascot in the league by a country mile.

The last and final reason why Jets games are so enjoyable, is because being in a National Hockey League arena is like you’ve been finally saving up to get that phone or gaming console. Just entering the arena makes you feel happy and excited for what’s to come. The food stations mixed in with the team store makes you want to buy everything so that you can have the best viewing experience. The fact that this team was in question about having a team a while ago, to finally getting one, makes the fan base and people in the organization rawr with pride.

So what I’ve been trying to say is, Winnipeg as a city and as an organization, is one of a kind. To go and watch a Jets game at a young age is a kid’s dream. The game is so fun to watch. From the entertainment, to the food, to the arena itself, the fun never stops at Canada Life Centre. You should one thousand percent go and watch a Jets game, you wont be disappointed.

True originated from the CCM line, created by the Lefevre family. There are 50 percent of goalies in the NHL that wear true skates, and 43 percent wearing pads, gloves, and blockers. That is a very high percentage. Now True has a lot of goalie stuff that is high quality and honestly better than competing brands. I have been rocking the True 20.2 set, and it has been my favorite set that I have ever had. I had been wearing CCM’s for the longest time, but I knew that True had been in the same line as CCM, so I bought a pair of Trues. The comfortability mixed in with the durability and movement, makes the equipment so enjoyable to wear. Now I know there is what people think as the best line (Bauer) that is crushing the competition with the light and freeing equipment. Don’t get me wrong, their line is very solid, but there are some differences that I believe make True better. The True pad itself is very responsive as you transition in and out of saves, movement, and your stance. The FRS (Fast Rotation System) is the core of the whole pad. The FRS is in the calf area that makes it easier to rotate and move. True also has supporting cast with the nylon knee strap, knee block, updated boot, and soft boot flex option. What makes Bauer a strong competitor is the fact that their light equipment and the eye catching style, makes the pad more enjoyable to wear.

Now there are some strong goalie equipment brands that are really strong at making the equipment comfortable and easy to wear, but none of them compare to the safety and comfortability of the True line. The FRS system, knee block, updated boot, nylon knee strap and soft boot flex option makes the bad easier to move in, and more enjoyable in the long run to wear. The durability mixed in with comfortability, makes the pads the top of the line in goalie equipment.

There are many reasons why I love hockey and continue to play it to this day. Many components go into the game of hockey like competitiveness, enjoyability, work ethic, and athleticism. I personally have all of those components and continue to work on those skills everyday. I play the position of goalie on in the Lightning program for the Interlake. My team was just recruited yesterday and I am entering my third year onto this team. My performance personally for the past two seasons has improved, and I genuinely am enjoying playing there. My teammates have boosted my confidence playing in front of me throughout last season which made me become a more skilled goaltender for my team. This year will be different for me considering I’ll be one of the oldest people on that team, which means I am versing mostly 09’s.

I originally was trying out for the u18 team when I got snipped. I then went to u17 but got kicked off for u18 taking two imports. After that i tried out for Ice Dawgs and didn’t like it. I later got a call a day after saying I was being called back to u17 because one of the imports quit. So now I am registered for the team for sure now, and I will be playing a 16 out of the 32 game season. I love the game of hockey, and I was almost about to quit but the u17 program called me back to play my senior year. I am excited to get the season started, and I hope we win a lot of games this year.
